Describe the bug
First noticed the issue a few days ago: Typing in Notepads while using Microsoft's Aptos font causes choppy text updating and a massive delay in when the text appears on screen after typing it.

To Reproduce
In Notepads settings; change the font style to Aptos and then type multiple words into Notepads.

Expected behavior
The typed text should appear on screen letter-by-letter as it's typed by the user.

Screenshots
Attached is a video example where I was able to type normally using Calibri, then the choppy typing with Aptos.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro | 23H2 | Build 22631.4460
  • App Version: v1.5.5.0 [Installed via Microsoft Store]

Additional context

  • The app often hangs mid-sentence while updating/displaying a typed sentence until given additional input. (e.g. Pressing the Enter button sometimes causes the typed text to appear quicker).
  • Restarting my PC and reinstalling the Notepads app from the Microsoft store didn't resolve the issue.
  • The delayed text bug is specific to Notepads & the Aptos font, since it doesn't seem to occur when using other fonts in Notepads (including downloaded fonts) or in Microsoft's Notepad or Word while using Aptos.
