"Please authenticate" #1
Comments
Just FYI: the VSCode extension works for me as of yesterday, Sunday, October 2nd. I'm not sure what you did, but I do not get the "Please authenticate" message anymore. At least one other user reported on Discord that they have the same issue, however. Interestingly, the realease of the extension I'm using is still 0.0.9. |
Hmmm. No pushes from us. However, I will tie this ticket with the release of better error reporting. |
Note other user error turned out to be a typo in auth info and therefore different. |
Was issue somehow resolved on your work laptop, also, @ichoosetoaccept ? |
I only tried from my work laptop, in fact. Didn't even try on my private laptop yet. There was no change at all. I was on the same wifi when it started working as when it didn't work. Connected to the same VPN as always. Today it continued working via a different wifi network. Puzzling, really. Intuitively, something, SOMEWHERE, must have changed 😃 |
No matter what I do, I cannot get the VSCode extension to work:
It's installed in VSCode (Version: 1.71.2 (Universal)
Commit: 74b1f979648cc44d385a2286793c226e611f59e7
Date: 2022-09-14T21:05:37.721Z
Electron: 19.0.12
Chromium: 102.0.5005.167
Node.js: 16.14.2
V8: 10.2.154.15-electron.0
OS: Darwin arm64 21.6.0
Sandboxed: No)
ExplainDev version 0.0.9:
I tested on my work laptop and had a proxy issue (blocked). OK. Also tested on my private laptop with no restrictions. Same issue.
Email and auth code provided by ExplainDev are entered in settings.
I even tested connectivity with the following curl call, provided by the dev team, and it works on the personal laptop:
curl -X GET https://api.explain.dev/ping
I discussed this at length with explaindev support, but just to have a summary, I thought I'd add this here.
Cheers!
