I'm using these versions: SuperConductor (0.11.3) and CasparCG server (2.4.0 stable)
I have a video that lasts 2 minutes.
I want to start playout of video at 1 minute point.
so: I drag video from resource list on right pane onto 'new part', and it creates a new part, showing the entire video in the timeline.
I then drag the left hand edge of the video, so that it's starting at 1 minute. Looks fine.
Now, I want to move the video segment so that it plays out at the beginning of the part timeline, instead of from the 1 minute point.
I primary-click on the middle of the video segment (say, around the 1:30 time, so the mouse is in the middle of the 1 minute segment), drag the segment towards the left hand edge of the part, and let go of primary mouse button when the left hand edge of the segment has reached the start of the part.
After releasing the mouse button, checking the 'start', I see that it has been reset back down to 0, which is not what I wanted. I want the playout to start 1 minute into the available video.
I also notice that now, the duration is now showing half of the 2 minutes.
what happened?
it does not seem to matter if I use the primary or secondary mouse to do the dragging, the result is the same. the duration gets set to the 1 minute, but the playout starts at 0m.
not what I wanted
What's the solution???

doh. seems the dragging of the left edge is not adjusting the seek at all. it should!
I have to use the 'more settings' to manually set the 'seek'. :(
is there an option to make dragging the left/right edges of a clip adjust the seek/duration while dragging from the middle just changes the start time?
Thank you for the detailed report!
I'll convert this thread to a Feature Request, it would be a good addition to be able to change the seek time on certain content types.

Question: How do I start video from other than frame 0 at the beginning of the part?
Feature request: Be able to drag in timeline view to change seek time
