crash after getting ou of app / turning phone to sleep mode

So as the title says:
It's been a few nightly releases (same for the latest stable version) that every time I pause an anime and change app, or turn my phone to sleep mode for any reason, and go back to the app, it crashes.

I don't know where I can find logs to provide to identify the issue, but I find it very frustrating to have to go back to the app -> the episode -> remember where I was because I had to turn my phone off or respond to a text message.
