Current springframework version is 4.2.6. Version 4.1.9 and 3.2.17 continues GA.

You could consider deprecating spring 2 also.

Is there anything that prevents the use of the library with version 4 ? or is it just that you don't want to get a old version pulled in transitively into your project?
