Grayjay / YT Plugin stops working after watching one Video #1817
Comments
I have the same issue. It's either this or block detected attempting bypass. I'm on the newest update and I tried all the fixes, but it still doesn't work |
Hey there, been stuck with this issue for a while too, about a week, where it'll fall back to UMP and then either only play the video until 1:00 or not at all. What I have just found though, and this definitely may not work for everyone, is check the "Creators" tab where your subscriptions are and see if there's any without their PFPs loaded (ex. Just a black circle). If there are any, tap on each of those subscriptions until they load, and then try to load a video. Seemed to work for me. |
I'm also having this issue however, if I close the affected video the entire application locks up and I'm left with no choice but to restart it entirely |
I can replicate this if I'm connected to:
Please try:
Remember to restart Grayjay after switch (force stop it). I have zero issues using UMP streams within EU, new and the previous Grayjay version. |
Guess it's partially an IP thing, since I'm from the EU 🤷 |
If you don't mind sharing the country, I could test it. I didn't actually check every single one. |
Turn off "allow loginfallback" |
@danielkrysiak I'm usually online using a mullvad server in Germany @DemonoidMaster nope, didn't help |
I didn't test Germany, it's broken, it's the only country I tried so far in the EU which breaks. I'm using Mullvad as well.
I'm not going to test all of them ;) |
I've encountered this as well. It sorta fixes itself after closing the video and re-opening it anywhere from one to three or four times without restarting the app as well, but it's consistent enough that it tends to happen on almost every video clicked. |
I tried to country hop and force stopping the app but it didn't work. Issue persists Also reopening the video as Lucina suggested didn't help |
I'm pretty sure this is the identical issue that is discussed in the other thread on here describing "videos freezing @ 59 seconds / 12 55 / videos won't play at all etc". For context, I have the same device as O. P., and have tried everything in the other thread as well. |
Weirdly, that seems to work for me also. |
I believe those are two unrelated issues. We have some users whose player stops working after the first video, and others who can play videos but experience issues after about a minute. I might be wrong, but to me, it seems these are unrelated issues or, at the very least, different bugs caused by the same underlying issue. |
Hey guys just letting you know we are investigating this and working on a fix for desktop version as well. For easier tracking we won't reopen this one since we already have these three opened: #1807 #1639 #1596 and it is already hard to track everything through those 3. We are also aware that restricted videos won't work since we didn't fix it for them but wanted to push a fix for everyone so they can at least watch regular videos. We will get to that as well. Also if you have Use Login for video details enabled it probably won't work either. |
What happened?
After opening Grayjay, selecting a video, watching it for any amount of time and then selecting a new video from anywhere the playback just won't work anymore. The channel info, comments and video suggestions still load but the playback doesn't start nor can be started.
The time stays at
00:00 / -12:-55
After restarting the app you can play one video normally again then the issue reappears.
I'm on Android 15 / Google Pixel 7 Pro
