Disable automatic highlighting of text

nvim-cmp config:

After selecting autocompletion for e.g. className:

My text gets highlighted in a strange way when I type:

Highlight does not go away after I have pressed ESC to go into normal mode.

This only seems to happen sometimes e.g. it happened with the "variant"

Also it seems to spread

When i enter visual mode I can also highlight other pieces of code and the two highlighted regions will co-exist

The fcGoogle region is my visual mode highlight. But the w-full is the highlight that I didn't cause
