For some reason, as of a week or two ago, I started to get the videos from youtube to be shifted to the right when fullscreen. I tracked it down to the videospeed extension (I'm on version 0.7.4, using Chrome 133.0.6943.98)
I do use a ultrawide screen, if that matters, and here are two screenshots to show the problem:
Normal video (with the youtube controls UI)
As soon as the overlay UI autohides, the video shifts to the right and crops it, where I can only see half of the video content:
I thankfully managed to find a workaround, the V hotkey (set for the display/hide of the speed controller UI) seems to toggle the bug on and off (but not quite)... so once fullscreen, if I press V, it will recenter the video, if I press it again, it will shift things to the right again.
Note that if the video is shifted to the right in fullscreen with no UI, then it's centered once the youtube controls are visible, but if it's centered in fullscreen with no UI, then it's shifted/cropped to the right once the youtube controls are visible... in other words, the bug always appears in fullscreen, either with or without the youtube controls, and the V hotkey just toggles when the bug appears.
As of today however, I don't see the issue anymore with the youtube controls visible, only when they're hidden, so I'm not sure what changed.
I don't know if others are affected by the same issue. I don't appear to have it if I try in an incognito window, so there might be more to it, but I couldn't figure out what else could be causing it (I did disable every other extension to make sure it's not a compatibility issue with another extension).
I hope this helps!
