I'm trying to "Switchify" my RP4Pro (aka easily jump from handheld to docked controls without any background control fiddling), which I found possible by mapping port 2 onto port 1. It should be easy as saving the core remap, but can't for the life of me get it to work on NES (Nestopia), N64 (Mupen Plus), Gamecube (Dolphin), & PS1 (Swanstation).

Here are some confounding caveats:

-SNES & Genesis work perfectly.

-The issue is only with frontend like Daijisho & ES-DE. Launching games from RetroArch loads my remaps perfectly for all cores.

-I've tried every permutation of saving configurations, overrides, directories, etc. from front end launched games with no luck; it never sticks. I also don't think there's any override in the frontend contributing, at least not one that I think I can change.

Possibly duplicate of #17321 ?

I have a suspicion that these are related, yes.
