I download roms, I usually start off with the zip files, and the zip files have disc bin cue iso gdi files dumped from the disc. But it takes up more space than normal. For example, Metal slug 4 on the ps2 has a zip file of 910 MB, but when compressed to chd it is 77.4 MB. Can there be a chdman core that scans the rom folders for disc games, scans inside archive files like 7z and zip, decompresses the folders, and converts to chd. Delete the original files when done.
I'm not super excited to add this. There aren't really viable means of dumping discs using just a phone. Doing re-encodings on a phone might be misconstrued as aiding piracy.
I could perhaps see a case for a standalone app that does compressed file management including converting compressed iso or zipped bin/cue into chd format.
Android has functions, but not for iOS. For chd files.
iTunes only supports usb dongles for transferring files through, and it takes up more time, i would rather have an app scan files that contain disc files in archives and compress. Maybe someone can develop an ipa for that. Unless try making a core that does that, if qemu is a core on RetroArch, I don't see why not Chdman could be possible.
