Steam crashes when trying to connect to a TF2 server whilst gallery-dl is running and downloading.

For whatever reason, the steam client just closes when trying to connect to a tf2 service when using gallery-dl. it specifically only happens then and nowhere else.
tf2 seems to be the only game but i havent really tried any other games or source games because i dont play them.
it also doesnt do it with any other downloader program i use, just gallery-dl, steam and tf2.

How's that a gallery-dl issue?

it only happens when running this program and nothing else. and i cant find any info on it, so i thought id ask here

All networking is done using the standard requests and urllib3. gallery-dl itself doesn't do anything special, no explicit system calls, nothing out of the ordinary that would cause other processes to crash.
