That's because HAGS does not freeze streams anymore. You're likely running into a VRAM issue and that is why it is freezing. |

Is there an existing issue for this?
Is your issue described in the documentation?
Is your issue present in the nightly release?
Describe the Bug
Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) is turned OFF on my HP OMEN (15-dc0018nq) which has a GTX 1050 TI running latest driver (531.18) on Windows 11 22H2. I realize this driver is from today, but I had the same issue with the previous driver as well.
On my Chromecast with Google TV, I start Moonlight, connect to Sunshine and get to the desktop. Desktop shows up, then after 5 minutes or so the stream freezes. The Sunshine server still runs, audio still goes, but the image on my TV is frozen. It does not happen only on the desktop, it also happens in games (tried Stardew Valley). Checked my host PC and everything is fine.
The laptop also comes with an Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 so I tried switching to force a specific encoder to run on either of the graphics cards. I get the same behavior, regardless.
Tried executing Sunshine.exe from CMD with Admin privileges, added Sunshine as a scheduled task to "run with highest privileges" and I also tried running Sunshine as a service. Observed same behavior.
Tried Sunshine 0.18.4 and the nightly build; installed 6 different Nvidia drivers (some even from 2020 and 2021), same issue.
It's streaming on my local network, both host and client are connected via Ethernet with cat5E. I have a gigabit connection. As a last resort I tried with GeForce Experience and the stream is smooth and does not freeze.
Any help would be appreciated.
Expected Behavior
Should not freeze and run smoothly.
